Mashebrum Base Camp Trek
Overview & Mountain Character
“An approachable and rewarding trekking journey through Hushe Valley up to the foot of Masherbrum (K1), one of the Karakoram's most striking peaks.”
Starting in Hushe village at the terminus of the road in Baltistan, this trek traces picturesque mountain paths past streams, terraced plots, and high moraines into the Masherbrum basin. The route climbs gradually toward the base camp at 4,280m, nestled directly beneath the imposing 7,821m summit of Masherbrum. Renowned for its comparatively gentle approaches and moderate duration, this trip lets trekkers experience authentic base-camp scale without intense technical demands.

Travel by 4x4 jeep along the Shyok River for 120km (6-7 hours), passing through Khaplu, Macholo, and Kanday before reaching Hushe village.
Begin the foot journey with a 6.9 km walk lasting 3 to 4 hours from Hushe to the riverside camp at Parbisan.
Advance further into the glacial valley over 4.1 km (3-4 hours) to arrive at the Brumbrama campsite.

Commence the descent by hiking 4 hours back down the valley to Brumbrama.
Continue following the trail downhill through pastures back to the village of Hushe.
Return to Skardu by jeep along the scenic valley roads (6-7 hours) for a well-earned hotel stay.
Fly back south to Islamabad, with free time in the afternoon. (In case of cancellation, commence the road transfer along the Indus River toward Chilas).
